I have a bunch of vim commands that I keep in a file because I don't find them easy to remember.
I want to paste them into whatever vim session I'm running.
Vim Text Editor For Mac
However, since upgrading to High Sierra, when I paste a vim command into a vim session, it adds the text as if I had asked it to insert the text!

- Not sure which vimrc you're referring to, on linux like distributions there's always a master vimrc in someplace like /etc/vimrc (This is the basic vimrc that is always loaded), I'm guessing something similar exists for mac.
Really, really annoying and I can't figure out how to make it accept the paste as if it were keyboard input.
Any ideas? Thanks!

I don't seem to be able to upgrade to 'high sierra' so I can't confirm yet, but...
This sounds like it has to do with the :set mouse=a command. Type :set
to view the current setting to the mouse=
variable. There are a handful of modes for your mouse in vim. I think you want :set mouse=n
. Type :help mouse
in vim to see more info. Unfortunately I'm writing this on my phone and can't research/verify further. Hopefully :help mouse
will give you the info you need to find the proper command to change your mouse behavior.
If :set mouse=n
fixes your problem then add set mouse=n
to your ~/.vimrc file. Same command, without the colon.

proof-of-concept only
This was an impressive proof-of-concept for porting vim to the iPad. Applidium deserves full credit to get the ball started on this and making their efforts open source. However, the app was never designed to actually be usable (broken font rendering, no way to actually open/close files, no ios-specific usability enhancements, etc). Even the recent beta update left much to be desired. Fortunately, others have continued the development. Currently, the iVim app is the actually useable version of this. Applidium should probably remove this from the app store at this point and contribute to the continued development of iVim instead.
Vim, not sure the use case, but like it’s what it is.
Not sure the use case of this, but like it’s vim. I want to pull in some plugins and update my .vimrc, but I’m not sure if that’s possible, but at the same time, I’m just happy this exists.
